…don’t argue with me.
My Boring Life
Saw this over at Marooned. So cool, and they look like nice pieces of furniture. Unfortunetly their coffee table won’t work in my house. I have one really big problem:
Yes he has a perfectly good dog bed, he’d rather lay on my coffee table. That particular piece is already showing the strain of a 100lb dog jumping on and off. I’m thinking our next one is going to be a box of wood, if I’m lucky it’ll have a drawer or two.
So today I was looking for something different to make when it occurred to me that I’d not tried King Arthur Flour’s Cheese cracker recipe lately. I’d made it several times before but I always had trouble rolling the dough thin enough, but over the winter I found a pasta roller on sale, and then never made crackers.
So, out came the pasta roller, and I made crackers.
I’m not going to copy over the recipe, just click the link. But they are pretty easy to make, and the only fancy ingredient you need is the powdered cheese. I do suggest that when measuring out the cheese powder to make it a heaping to overflowing 1/2 cup. I also suggest that when baking, at the 8 minute mark when you separate the crackers you also flip them. From then on watch them closely, they really WILL go from golden to to brown in a second or two. The only other thing I do that the recipe doesn’t suggest is that once they’re cool I put them into a large ziplock bag and add some more cheese powder and shake till the crackers are covered.
They’re awesome, and I totally recommend them!
Gas prices here have been over the $4 mark for at least a couple weeks now (not hugely over, but enough so that even the “cash price” was over $4). But the last few days almost all the stations dropped below that mark. Not that the few cents difference makes that much of a difference in the overall cost. Its still almost $50 to fill my gas tank every week, and if its one of THOSE weeks its twice a week. Can I say how much that hurts?
Edit 09/2020: I’m being told that the most recent changes to Blogger mean that this option is no longer there. Sorry.
For those of you who are struggling with the new Blogger format and trying to figure out why you no longer have paragraphs here’s how to fix it.
Apparently the good folks at Google believe that EVERYONE codes their posts in HTML cause the default setting is to require HTML code to create a paragraph break. Nice huh?
Anyway, go to the screen where you type in new posts. On the right hand side is a list of menus for various settings, click on the one that says Options and has a gear icon. At the bottom of the menu is the option for Line Breaks. Default (when they forced you to change) is “Use <br> tag”, change it to “Press Enter for line breaks”. Click “done”. Presto, paragraph breaks where you want them.

Guess its a good thing I don’t intend to modify that blog any more huh? (I don’t recall ANYTHING from them last April about moving the blog, seriously??)
I need a mail client for my desktop that I can use to download email from my @scaryyankeechick address so I can start actually USING it instead of gmail.
Not a huge fan of Outlook, though I’ve used it so I could again.
Currently running XP (sp3), though I suppose I need to upgrade to 7 before long (eeeeewwwww)
Any ideas?
