The folks across the street, the ones that I’ve now had to call animal control on TWICE cause they refuse to contain their dogs, bought a 3-wheeler about a month or so ago. We frequently saw the eldest child riding it at break-neck speeds around their property, attempting to make it jump and what not. Last night Husband looked out the window to see the kid pushing it out of the ditch. Its now sitting beside their driveway with a for sale sign on it. I am totally amused….

Biking with the dogs, update
Well, Apollo had a total freakout (ok, total freak out for HIM anyway), as in he planted his feet and REFUSED to move when we hooked him up to the bicycle. Not entirely sure WHY, he’s seen the bike before, and I’ve even pushed it with him walking beside it a couple times to make sure it wasn’t totally scary. He handled the harness ok. But when I hooked him up to the bike and started to move, well, he didn’t. Oh well. I thought about trying to see if we could coax him into it and decided it wasn’t worth it for now. Maybe later.
Arty however is still thrilled with it. The lower attachment point makes a HUGE difference for me, and doesn’t seem to bother him at all. So I’ll take it.
Wildlife
A pair of Mallard Ducks just landed in the tiny little holding pond off the rear southern corner of our property. When I say its tiny I mean its about 3ft across and 6 long and about 6 inches deep, but it stays wet pretty much all summer, and clearly these ducks knew it. Very cool!

Theme update, AGAIN??
Seriously? I know I was a little slow getting the last one in place, but not by that much, its only been a week, less really. WTF??
Ok, that hurts…
We bought an attachment for my bicycle so we could attach one of the dogs for some extra exercise. Which sounds like a really good idea, but thanks to the wonky weather last year its been 2 years since I was last on a bike. Didn’t even bike a mile and the fronts of my thighs hurt. Sigh.
On the other hand at least for Arty its working reasonably well. He caught on REALLY quickly to the concept and seems to enjoy it, and its probly just as well I couldn’t go any further as he was definetly flagging by the end. I will say that before I hook up Apollo to the bike I’ll have to get the alternative hookup for the bike so that it attaches to my back wheel instead of just below the seat. Even 25lb Arty can jerk me hard enough that I have to correct, 100lb Apollo would pull me over….if it WORKS for Apollo though we’ll get a 2nd setup so that my husband can take a dog too.

Anybody out there know CSS?
I’m trying, again, to create a set of child theme .css files so that the NEXT time they update the theme I don’t have to drive myself nuts fixing things again. I want to over ride the font-family code, the problem is that font-family is designated in at least 10 different spots in 3 different files. Now I know I have to create seperate child.css files for each of the individual files, but I don’t want to have to do 10 sets of code for each one either. In theory:
font{
font-family:Book Antiqua!important;
}
at the top of the child file will override the rest of the font-family designations. Is that correct?
WP.com, idiots
So, my request for help on their forums (since nothing else was getting a response), finally got a response:
Since we don’t want other people to have your username in the future, we don’t delete usernames (they are kept so they cannot be recycled). For more information, please see
http://en.support.wordpress.com/deleting-accounts/
I also see you’ve already deleted your blog(s). I do have a few suggestions for you if you really want to scrub the account:
1) You can go to My Account->Edit Profile and remove all data except the account name and an email address. Create a throwaway email address and change the account email to that throwaway address. This only leaves the username behind.
2) To ensure the account is locked up tightly, visit this site, generate a password of 15-20 characters, and change the account password to it:
http://www.thebitmill.com/tools/password.html
3) To learn how to hide your Gravatar profile, please read “How do I hide my profile?” section of the help page:

There’s just one teensy weensy little problem with this. I HAVE TWO ACCOUNTS WITH THE SAME USER NAME. If I log into wordpress.com using the ONE username it will randomly log me into which ever of the two accounts it feels like, this is how I found out about the 2nd account in the first place. So that whole “we don’t delete user names so they can’t be re-used” is the biggest piece of BS I’ve seen in a while.
Never mind that I never gave them permission to create the 2nd account in the first place. I sincerly hope this was done WITHOUT the knowledge of their legal folks cause its seriously stupid and less than completely legal…..
