Hey, I need a new coffee table!

Saw this over at Marooned.  So cool, and they look like nice pieces of furniture.  Unfortunetly their coffee table won’t work in my house.  I have one really big problem:

Yes he has a perfectly good dog bed, he’d rather lay on my coffee table.  That particular piece is already showing the strain of a 100lb dog jumping on and off.  I’m thinking our next one is going to be a box of wood, if I’m lucky it’ll have a drawer or two.

New Blogger not doing paragraph breaks: solution

Edit 09/2020: I’m being told that the most recent changes to Blogger mean that this option is no longer there.  Sorry.

For those of you who are struggling with the new Blogger format and trying to figure out why you no longer have paragraphs here’s how to fix it.

Apparently the good folks at Google believe that EVERYONE codes their posts in HTML cause the default setting is to require HTML code to create a paragraph break.  Nice huh?

Anyway, go to the screen where you type in new posts.  On the right hand side is a list of menus for various settings, click on the one that says Options and has a gear icon.  At the bottom of the menu is the option for Line Breaks.  Default (when they forced you to change) is “Use <br> tag”, change it to “Press Enter for line breaks”.  Click “done”.  Presto, paragraph breaks where you want them.

Yet another reason to switch off Blogger

Guess its a good thing I don’t intend to modify that blog any more huh?  (I don’t recall ANYTHING from them last April about moving the blog, seriously??)

Weather 2

No snow, or else there was only a little and it melted before I got up, which is very possible. The reports on the news though state that not everyone was so lucky. Buffalo for example was predicted to get 5 to 8 inches. Last report I saw said it was closer to a foot plus. Lotsa rain here instead. Which although my yard didn’t need alot of the surrounding areas did, so I guess I’ll put up with it!

hah!! It WORKS!!!!

I got my child theme to WORK.  Woohooo!!!!!

Ok, back to work, now I gotta get ALL my changes set into it….lol
Edited: Oh, if while browsing something turns funky or looks funky, or just out right different don’t be afraid to let me know, infact PLEASE let me know.  Hopefully it’ll just be me making changes that you got caught in the middle of, but I can’t fix it if I don’t know about it!

My boots

For Mrs S over at DIY Housewife.

Timberland’s site (looks like MSRP is $125)

and a quick check shows Dicks has the brown version for $105 (atleast on their website)

and Gander Moutain has them on sale for $84 (maybe I should go pick up another pair to stash….)

I’ve had this pair for 3 years now, and though they don’t get worn every day for the SUMMER (though certinally for at least some of the summer), by mid fall through mid spring at least they get worn every day in mud, rain, sleet, puddles, and snow.   No leaks, no cracks in the leather, the soles have held up well, and even a certian puppy deciding they were his to chew on hasn’t done TO much damage.  Can’t comment on arch support, as its not a problem I’ve ever had.
